Set Up Spotter DVT1

Follow three short steps, then confirm one complete measurement on the OLED.

Three-step path

From the box to your first result

Complete these steps in order. The NSCIT App is not required for this initial check.

  1. Confirm the accessories

Confirm that Spotter, the Bluetooth ranging remote, batteries, eyepiece sleeve, matching liners, level, hex key, and screwdriver are present.

  2. Install batteries and power on

Install a CR123A or 16340 battery in Spotter and a CR1632 battery in the remote, following the illustrated orientation. Short-press the Spotter range button and confirm that the OLED turns on. Power on the remote; it reconnects to its paired Spotter automatically.

  3. Mount, level, and check

Choose the matching eyepiece liner and push it fully into place. Level Spotter, then tighten the screws alternately and evenly without overtightening. Spotter is zeroed at the factory; check alignment after mounting and use pages 10–12 of the User Guide only if it is not aligned.

Setup complete

Confirm one complete measurement

A successful first check shows both of the following on the OLED:

  • A valid distance
  • A ballistic result

Optional

Connect a phone with the NSCIT App

Spotter can complete the first measurement above without the App. Use the App only when you want its phone-based features.

Connect and retry

  1. Open the NSCIT App and stay on the home screen.
  2. If Spotter powers on while the App is open, wait for the device to appear, then tap its connection icon. The device name is shown as Spotter-XXXX.
  3. If Spotter was already on but does not appear, short-press the Spotter range button to advertise again. The advertising window is about 10 seconds.
  4. A typical connection takes about 3–5 seconds. When connected, the App enters the Spotter home screen; the OLED does not show an extra change.
  5. If connection fails, short-press the range button and try again. If it still fails, restart Spotter before retrying.

Note: This connects Spotter to a phone. It is separate from remote pairing.
